If you love to hate “ugly sweaters”, you’ll hate to love this! Shumate was inspired by ugly christmas sweaters, in order to conceptualize a design that carried on the general feel of an ugly sweater but changing some of the basic elements. He swapped the thick knit for fine American Apparel Jersey T-shirts which are made with 100% cotton. Then he took some of Mario’s world and arranged it using the same patterns as the traditional ugly sweaters. Originally up for vote on threadless.com, you can now follow Shumate designs on Tim Shumate Illustrations.

Don’t panic if red is not one of your favorite colors, the t-shirts also come in grass green, and lieutenant (a mix between grey and olive green). In addition, you can get the same print on a hoodie sweater!
